Booting Debian from hd w/ boot manager?

Hi...recently installed a commercial package called Partition Magic which contains IBM's Boot Manager, and currently installing Debian. I can't seem to get the boot manager to recoginze the linux partition as bootable. Some particulars: Micronics motherboard w/60mz pentium, Conner Peripherals CF
