The package, and all its dependencies are now in the apt archive on my

The short question is:
will I succeed in installing/upgrading a Woody program on Potato, or will it
give me troubles?
Answer:
I did this with SANE.
It worked.
Just include the proper Woody sources line in your sourses.list, apt-get
update, apt-get install

I always found my ps2 mouse on /dev/psaux
However, on many systems you would have /dev/mouse which is a symlink to
whatever real device your mouse is on.
Try following /dev/mouse if you have one.

Hi,
scanner help needed.
I just installed a fresh Debian 2.2R3 and wanted to scan.
So I installed sane.
But when I run xscanimage it says it can't find any devices.
That makes me wonder, because:
During bootup the the BIOS finds my SCSI scanner.
During Linux load, Linux finds my SCSI scanner.
Hello :o)
Why will xsane not find my scanner?
It is a MUSTEK MFS 6000CX scanner that sits just nicely on my SCSI adapter.
I have read the man pages for sane-mustek, sane-scsi, and xsane, and I must be
missing something.
I am running Potato release 3.
This is my /etc/sane.d/mustek.conf:

16bpp is somewhat easy.
Become root
Edit /etc/X11/XF86Config
In the Screen section add the following line below the Monitor entry of the
screen definition(s) you use:
DefaultColorDepth 16
For more information man XF86Config
