I installed Knoppix on an available laptop as quick way to check
debian. Somewhere I either changed a switch or missed it and a large
number of things are in German. I know if I start the live CD, I can
enter the language switch from the command line but how do I do that
from an installed cop
this switch?

I took what appears to be an unwise shortcut and installed Knoppix on
the harddrive of a spare laptop. It now appears that some portion of
what is installed is in german. Is there an easy way to either fix my
installation or reinstall in English?

I have added a line to the ./cron.d/mrtg file. I believe that I have
to restart cron (or crond?) in order that the edited file is read. I
can't find a clear explanation on how to do this. Can someone point me
to an explanation or tell me how?

I am trying to move mrtg from a windows system to my linux server
running sarge. I have found that mrtg was installed and I have placed
the mrtg.cfg file into ./etc/ Where do I place the work directory?
Also can I move all the data from my windows system that currently
resides in c:\mrtgd

I am still discovering what I don't know...Among that is why after I
deleted a 17GB error log, df does not report that space as usable. Is
there some process I need to start after deletion to actually recover
that space?

I have sarge running with kernel image 2.4.25-1-386. My processer is a
P4. Is there any advantage to updating to 2.4.27-686? What risks am I
running. Or am I better to ugrade to 2.6??
