I installed xchat (debian unstable). Unfortunately all channel windows
are have just a black background and no text is visible. (Maybe the
text color is also black?).

with the normal pppd with a capiplugin.so (from isdn4linux source) with
my FRITZ!PCMCIA, so the hardware problems (driver) seems to be solved.

Hello,
yesterday I installed freeamp, which resulted in some
other packages to be (re)installed. Now my (gdk) locale
support seems to be broken.
If I lauch a gtk-vim with LC_CTYPE=de_DE, I get
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
This worked formerly. What can I do ?

I've a /etc/ld.so.conf
/usr/local/lib
/usr/lib
/lib
but `ldconfig -p' shows
libvgagl.so.1 (libc6) => /usr/lib/libvgagl.so.1
libvgagl.so.1 (libc6) => /usr/local/lib/libvgagl.so.1
libvgagl.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/libvgagl.so
