tfdir had run. The strange
thing is that on another machine that is also running testing, mkttfdir works
(I copied the fonts from a Win2000-partition, about 35 of them). Can it be the
amount of fonts that is the problem or is it something else?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the NVidia drivers require kernel
2.4.x.

to the internet more than about 20 min at a time. I've also tried dhcp-client

kernel 2.4.2 with all necessary updates.
I wonder if anybody else has these kind of problems.

I've run potato and woody before and never seen this behaviour in gdm. Does
anyone know what causes it?

I see. I hope I can find mkinitrd somewhere because that is the script I need.
Anyway, I thank you for your time and your persuasive answers. :)

What is the Debian way to make an initrd-image?
TIA,

Hello,
I'm a newbie to Debian (a former Red Hat user) and am wondering how to
recompile a .deb from a src .deb with different compile options than the
default ones? In Red Hat you change rpmrc and then type rpm -rebuild
. I assume there is something similar in Debian.

It is exactly those kind of
Hi,
I wonder if there are any rumours when potato will be released? Debian
is the only (AFAIK) distribution now that doesn't ship with kernel 2.2.x
and glibc 2.1.x. This is the only reason I haven't Debian on my machine
right now and I would like to have it (getting tired of Red Hat).
