Thanks - how do I that? Do I need to
recompile the kernel, is this something that goes into a configuration
file? Or do I enter it at the command prompt?
I'm booting using lilo and running in command-line mode (ie.
not using X).

I would be enormously grateful for some guidance here!
I am trying to get quake working, under Debian 3. I am running gdm to load Gnome/KDE/etc. What I really want to run is textmode quake, but for now I'll settle for plain ordinary quake 1.
Here are my problems...

I have installed a Terratec 128 PCI sound card. How can I get it to work under Debian? Do I need a driver - where do I get one - what do I do with it? Could there be a driver already within the distribution I have (and how could I tell)?
Many thanks
