Hello,
xscreensaver 3.22 can't always unlock the screen via pam on a stock
debian potato box with kernel 2.4.4 and the corresponding Adrian Bunk's
packages to run 2.4 on potato.
Here is a log of xscreensaver showing the problem:
The first time it locks the screen it authentificates the
user vi
Device "/dev/psaux"
EndSection
ls -l /dev/psaux gives me
crw---1 root root 10, 1 ago 14 11:16 /dev/psaux
And it works OK.
Does gpm work for you?
(Perhaps gpm steps in X wrt the mouse)
