Christian,
You'll want to read up on Samba as it will allow you to connect a Linux machine
to a Win98 machine. You should probably enable TCP/IP (if it isn't already)
and assign an IP address to both of your PCs. I use the same type of Ethernet
card and I'm able to browse the "Network Neighbo
Make sure you have ppp support either compiled in or loaded as a module for the

Okay, I put "Auth" in /etc/ppp/options, but it still quits on connect.
Anything else I can try?
Hello Debian users,
I have been using the Debian distribution of Linux for many months now, but am
starting to recognize deficiencies in available, up-to-date packages. For
example, the latest GNOME files are 0.99.2 but I cannot find .deb files for it
anywhere. The best I could find was 0.30.

Any ideas ?

My goal is to mount that partition as /usr to make use of the extra space, but
I don't think I'm doing something right. Do I have to do something beside
setup a partition with cfdisk?

Hello,

If you want to use RS-422, you can buy a RS-232 <=> RS-422 converter from
companies like Jameco or Black Box. You can probably learn more about it by
finding a book on serial communications. You'll be able to use RS-232 for your
application without problem. RS-422 is used for very long distan
