I need XFree86 4.3 due to a bug in DRM in prior releases.
I it is not very likely for it to be included I will have to think about
migrating to another distro :-(
Thanks

According to the Debian reference Debian uses both ~/.xsession and
~/.xinitrc for setting up an X-environment.
I use wdm as display manager and need a personal PATH.
If I set it up in ~/.xsession it works as desired but if I now login on
a terminal and start a separate X-Server my ~/.bash_profile

executed if there is already an entry with same vendor/device-id in
/lib/modules/2.4.18-686-1/modules.usbmap.
I don't want to delete that entry. I only want the camera module in
blacklist (this works) and a script beeing executed ac

My freshly installed debian often crashes on shutdown when calling the umountfs script
and my /usr partition is not unmounted.
I use kernel-image-2.4.18-686 with ext2 on woody.

a copy of standard debian image for 2.4.18-586.

- insmod: cannot locate module *

hi
i am new to debian and i installed xfree86 from testing onto my stable release by
using "default-release" in apt.conf.
now i wonder why only the Xserver itself and some minor packages are updated. Aren't
the fontservers and such stuff version dependant?
Also i noticed that after a apt-get d
