Hi all,
I've been trying to chase this one down, but no luck so far. I've got
daild/ppp set up to connect to my ISP using dynamic addressing. Everything
works fine, except the following weird message about "Nonzero exit status"
for route when the link goes down (plus a few lines for context)"

Mike,
Thanks for the explanation. I have installed the new version with
no problems. I think the setup is just fine.
Happy new year,
Jim

Richard,
It is likely that an error in your own code, like a missing
semi-colon at the end of a line, occurring before the #include statement
is causing the problem. The error might not be recognized by the compiler
until it gets to the header, even though the header itself is fine.

Mike,
I tried to install the new uucp, but it requires mailx, which I don't use.
Why the change in dependencies since the last release, if it's just a
recompile for ELF?
Thanks,
Jim

Upgrading to debian 1.2 broke /etc/cron.daily/man; the fix seems to be to
use full path names for find and rm. I don't know why cron reported to
root that it had a PATH sufficient to do the job when this was not the
case. Thanks to Ralph and Fabrizio for replying!
Happy Holidays,
Jim

Oh dear - uucp an orphaned package! What is the (*n*x) world coming to?
If it really is orphaned, I might like to adopt it.
Happy holidays,
Jim

Apparently the upgrade from Debian 1.1 to 1.2 broke a daily cron job
which cleans up old catman files. The script used to work without any
problem before the upgrade; now I get daily error messages to root.
It's a minor annoyance, but I haven't found out the reason for it
yet. Any ideas?
Thanks

Bruce was asking for upgrade stories - here's a data point.
I installed my first debian system from the Sept 96 Infomagic set. (I'm a
slackware convert.) I have been happily running 1.1, and it was current
when I decided to upgrade to 1.2. It is now running nicely, with all
weirdnesses resolve
Hello all,
I am a little bit worried about this message about not finding
the map file upon bootup. Everything seems *completely* normal except
for this little message. I looked in the kernel sources (2.0.22) to
try and find the reason for it, but had no luck.
