To the best of my knowledge none of the Debian stable kernels set it.
Therefore you will need to either compile your own kernel or to jump
ahead and use a newer kernel. The linux-2.4.26 version from
debian-proposed-updates has this set and is probably the easiest way
to go.
deb http://http.us.de
Installation was fine, but I can not make Debian stable see the Broadcom

You say debian stable which means either 2.4.18 or 2.2.20, right?
Yes. 2.4.18
2. Install a newer kernel and use the tg3 module.

If these suggestions don't get you much farther, you'll probably want to
post some details about your system (video card, amount of RAM on the
video card, which version of Debian, which version of X, any WWarnings
or EErrors in /var/log/XFree86.0.log, etc).
Sorry, I'm not yet an ad
When I was running Suse 9 Pro I could have more than 800x600. But with
my new Debian testing I can only have 800x600.
What can I do?
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
Thanks!
Any idea how I can find the right settings for this:
VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc. MGA G400 AGP (rev 05)

How can I find which line number contains "1083300070" and then slice
the file from that line number and to its end?
sed
read about ranges, complements (!), and d delete
Would it be easier if I already now the line number?
(I found it with grep)
I think this will do it:
sed '/1083300070/,$!d' fi
