Hello everyone,
Does anybody know the status of hardware-accelerated video playback in
Chromium on Debian as of 2020? There's a lot of outdated information
out there, and the only recent stuff I've seen has involved a PPA on
Ubuntu.
Thank you,

ut it still didn't
work. Maybe that autoconf option was the ticket? Didn't see many other
folks trying these options out. Oh well.
Thank you for helping me think this through properly. This has been
solved.

Why in the world does enabling DHCPv6 for the IP address cause the
kernel to ignore router advertisements? That's a common use case for
IPv6.

Hello everybody,
I've been having a bear of a time trying to get my Debian Buster-based router
to operate with Comcast's native IPv6 configuration. I'm not looking
for prefix delegation, just a public address and a default gateway. I'm
using the ISC DHCP client for both v4 and v6 since it's gene
- but I cannot live with losing connectivity every time I reboot
I have posted this reply on https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/ so you
could reply there if not direct

Just migrated to Debian for largely philosophical reasons, and now
XFree86 is giving me fits. When I dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86, the
mouse does not respond regardless of which mouse settings I choose.
After reconfiguring 5-6 times (even if I use the same values), it
eventually works. Whenever
list.
Help!
Please send any words of wisdom to my e-mail address as well as to
debian-user.
Thanks,

Does anyone know where to find them or a different way to install
gnome-panel and gnome-utils?

I've installed gs-aladdin, gsfonts, magicfilter from slink.
In Netscape I put for the print command
gs --sModel=unspec --sOutputFile=\|lpr
It'll pop-up a Ghostscript "preview" window in X and after a couple
minutes (if I'm printing a web page with graphics or instantly if just
text) get a
I have lpd installed on Slink. Does anyone have any suggestions on where
to go from there? Printer setup is new to me. Netscape prints two lines of
jumble and then the printer starts feeding sheets continually. I have an
HP Deskjet 682C (same as 680C).

If the dependecies you're looking for (xlibc6, etc.) aren't "new enough"
for KDE try looking in ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/frozen . All the
dependencies for KDE should be in dists/(stable or
frozen)/main/binary-(i386 or whatever)/ except for Qt.
KDE 1.0 is, in my opinion, buggy. You may wan
all script after the
copying is complete but continues anyway. Any ideas?

I just noticed that it only does this in KDE! My .xsession-errors has
KCharset: Wrong charset! in it. Time to chuck KDE.
