My only tip would be to make sure you know which modules your kernel
is using and don't try using modconf at 3 AM after a long day :)

I believe you are trying to use a theme that needs
a gtk-engine installed first.
try
apt-get install gtk-engines-pixmap
then try to use the theme

Using Netscape 4.77 on a Progeny-Debian (Newton)system with Gnome 1.4,
I get HUGE bold fonts in Java Applets.
I've created an .Xdefaults file to clean up the toolbars and fonts
in the browser itself but I haven't seen anything in the Netscape.ad
file that might change the default fonts in Netsc
