Hi all,
a few minutes ago I heard my PC getting into a lot of fuss over something,
the HDD was spinning like crazy... so I looked at "top" and found that user
"nobody" was running a "find" comand
Now, is this a bad thing? it SURE looks liek one.
Thanks a lot,
Gianguido
PS please c
So now I have OpenSSH installed (btw, dselect was unable to remove the ssh
directories). It uses protocol 1.5 it seems I am running potato and
would like to use protocol 2.0 Is that possible?
How do I set other preferences like encryption and stuff??
btw, is there any GUI to ssh and its
I think it might be a little more complicated than what's below (?)

Hello everyone,
after an afternoon fighting with my ethernet card I have finally solved my
problems with it (I hope... :-( )
I have installed ssh but can't log into a machine. the strange thing is that
I can if I try from a Windows PC using PuTTY.
I presume it is a question of ssh config
I am not sure I understand... :
if I do not add the line "3c59x" manually to /etc/modules then the dmesg
does not contain any trace of eth0. So I guess I need to leave that in
then??
and carry on with configuring eth0 ...(?)
Also, the position of the eth0 part of dmesg with respect to the re
uot; or with "modconf"...
the funny thing is that the card/driver shows up at boot time and the is not
there anymore. I attach dmesg.txt in case it may help...
thanks again,
Gianguido Cianci
PS: I am aware that I might have all sorts of "useless" or "mutually
exclu
stuff during the original Linux installation? I
thought I could do it while the kernel was running
also,
- how do I make sure that module is loaded everytime I reboot the machine?
- what is next in terms of seting up a connection to the outside world??
thanks
