The problem does not happen when opening a link from evolution or
thunderbird. Telegram and Libreoffice are affected.

Just upgraded wheezy today and noticed that chromium got updated from
version 22 to 24. Can anybody give some hints why this happened (while

I have been quite satisfied with Gnome 2 in Squeeze, but as a testing
user i tried the new shiny GNOME 3 for a month when it came out in
unstable/experimental and was quite shocked of the non-usability,
besides the fact i needed proprietary drivers to run it. Then i switched
to XFCE 4.8 and got
I'm using MATE (GNOME 2 Fork: http://wiki.mate-desktop.org/download) for
quite a while now. And imo it's pretty stable and you won't notice that
much difference compared to squeeze. Give it a try :-)

instead of i386-files (most of the times).

Isnt this a "feature"? Did you try "xhost +"? My root-user also must not
open windows on my (user-)screen. "xhost +"

Someone just had the same problem as I had ("Unable to find
default-somewhat file"). Maybe this works for you too.
