Perhaps you'll find handy that simple Makefile I use
to get and build CVS and stable sources of MPlayer.
http://elemag.virtualave.net/files/mplayer/Makefile
create a source dir for MPlayer and put it in inside,
then type:
make help
[it need some improvements/cleanups though, but works
for me;
man consolechars
man setfont
consolechars -h
(see -H, -char-height= and others)

I guess that there is something wrong with your inbox
file(s),
cd $HOME/Mail
mv inbox inbox.bak
touch inbox
Then fire up your KMail and it will load both inbox
and inbox.bak so you can select & move your stuff
from inbox to inbox.bak within KMail. It should be
correct now.

I've assembled a really simple script trying to
implement the apt-get -b source-upgrade function
(since apt has not such feature, but I don't think
this is a lack of functionality, but anyway). I'm not
sure if the

just type:
# apt-get update
# apt-get -f install gdm
and Debian will do the rest
Hope you have the relevant /etc/sources.list
pointed to any Debian archive mirror.

Hi, I just compiled some kernels 2.4.x series , and it
seems to me that all these builds prefer to use my
swap space instead of my free memory , so the
performance dropped :((( . I noticed when the mashine
is not overloaded , free outputs the following :
debian:/# free
