John the Ripper in Etch?

Hi, I just noticed that John the Ripper dropped off Etch and there is no visible activity from its mailntainer to bring it back. As Etch is nearing, does it mean john will not be part of it? How are we going to demonstrate our users their weak passwords? The only alternative I found in Etch is
