e groups audio, cdrom and floppy only if he or she is at the console. This behavior can be enforced on text virtual consoles by uncommenting the appropriate line in the config file for /bin/login in /etc/somefile (I can't remember the name, now). Can the same thing be done for X?

2 Qs about xdm & ppd

ppp works fine. However, pppd has the following permission: -rwsr-xr-- 1 root dip 76072 Mar 1 1997 /usr/sbin/pppd* I wonder if setting the SUID bit is what the mantainer had in mind. I don't think so, but of course I may be missing something. TIA, Ettore -- Ettore A
