No need to do that. The smbfsx package has been compiled with 2.2.x
kernel headers and everything is ready to go with the 2.2.x kernels.
Your problem might be that the syntax of smbmount changed from the
smbfs package to the smbfsx package. Take a look at the parameters you
are using.

You also have mSQL and mySQL. mySQL is supposed to be fast, small and
rock-solid, but it's not 100% free (it's in the non-free section).
I recommend you give PostgreSQL a try. The Debian version is very good
(thanks Oliver :-) and this RDBMS is improving every day.

"out of the box" solution instead of a "do it yourself" one Exide
Electronics (same as Deltec Power) sells UPS's that come with LanSafe
III, a software that runs on NT, NetWare and major U*nix flavors
(includin
(ncpfs and smbfs) have severe bugs in
RedHat's port to libc6. The only explanation I can think of is that
they rushed the release of the new version and they did not test at
all. I am glad Debian is not doing that :-)

I am getting bounced back messages every time I post to debian-user.
The bounced message says that [EMAIL PROTECTED] is an
unknow user.
Is it just me or everybody is having this problem?

hat causes output too with -w.
Right but the output from Perl when using the -w switch goes to
Standard Error, not Standard Ouput, so it can not be affecting what
the browser sees. Output from -w goes to the error.log.

directory under /home and put the database there. It's nice because
the database is backed up with all user's home directories everyday.
I prefer to put local binaries in the /usr/local hierarchy, not data.

go to the stable directory because updates are merged directly into the
main distribution. This is what I don't like.
