Mysterious reset during dselect

Any ideas on what would cause a spontaneous reset in the middle of the Install part of dselect? And, after said reboot, it's currently hanging on "Calculating module dependencies". Install was in the middle of finding old versions of teTex. Drew Bell

figure Device Driver Modules". The second I press Enter to select this step (which is suggested as "Next"), the system reboots. Every once in a while, I'll get something fun like speedily-scrolling strings of numbers or a bus error. Is this a fluke? Thanks in advance for any help. Drew Bell
