iwlist scan
if yes,
does this work:
iwconfig ESSID "essid_name" without ""
iwconfig key "key"
iwconfig AP xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
where xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx is the macaddress of the access point.
after this you should see that you are connected.
