Chris,
I don't know about item #3, but I have been very happy with the blackbox
window manager (http://blackbox.alug.org/). Very lightweight, and clean,
and very little screen real estate is wasted. I switched to blackbox when
the Gnome window manager made my P100 w/24MB RAM very slow.

Russ,
Have you tried a lower default bit depth, say 16? I know the docs say that
24bpp is supported, but it may be worth a try. We trying to get this
chipset working on a Dell Optiplex 110, still trying to get the correct
combination of module, server and config.
Cheers,
Daniel

the XF86Setup program would display the
i810 driver in the list of drivers. BTW, the FreeBSD XFree86 4.0.2 ports
install (for FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE) displayed the i810 driver when we ran
XF86Setup, and everything worked.
Does anyone know how to get the i810 driver to configure on Debian 2.2r2?
Thanks,
