Hi,
we have this ancient zip drive by IOMEGA and it is nearly working ;-).
But udev doesn't detect a media inside and doesn't create /dev/hd?4.
It can see the /proc/ide/hd?/media. I have this line in my debian
unstable /etc/udev/udev.rules:
# workaround for devices which do not report media chang
Hello,
Debian unstable useradd (shadow-4.0.15) doesn't do chown after
creating a user's home (-m option). I've found in the shadow source
package a patch with missing chown(...) line.
So... what do you think? Have anyone encountered the same problem?

Hello,
a debian netboot kernel
http://amd64.debian.net/debian/dists/unstable/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/debian-installer/amd64/
doesn't detect my aacraid. I'd like to use the debian's .config and
build nearly the same kernel but newer and working. The problem is that
i don't know
used by modified rm or some kernel module.
The easiest way is to boot to knoppix and remove this. Then
delete the whole system and install new ;-)

Hello,
my /var/log/syslog is rotated but there is nothing in
/etc/logrotate.conf nor in /etc/logrotate.d/*. How is syslog rotated?
Does it have its own rotate skript (why?!!!).
Thanks a lot,
