newbie has graphics card problem

tty2 etc. I can't seem to find the right one. Is there a command in bash that can autodetect this ? Thanks in advance.   Douglas Hunter

newbie needs help veiwing files

creen only partially fits onto my monitor any idea where I can find the config file for this?Thanks in advance       Douglas Hunter

root read only + can't remount it

to the ro privelages for root. The only powers alllowed are listing and creating new user accounts (not privelage specific (ro) ). Debian boots into bash for root and user though I have only been able to use non-graphical shells. Any help would be appreciated.   Douglas Hunter (confused newbie)
