always successfully used ident lookups with Squid to log users via ident
clients running on the Windows LAN machines.
I've now tried out Squid under Debian and cannot get it to log ident
responses even with the same con

google.co.uk/linux I think I'm only vaguely wiser: I want to install a
program from the unstable distrib since it's the program version I wish to
use due to enhanced features etc. I think I'm right in saying that I need

Then run:
mount /dev/hdc /cdrom
You can then
cd /cdrom
and access CD contents etc.
To unmount
umount /dev/hdc

Hi all,
I'm currently involved in a Debian-distro based project which aims to create
an Internet caching product for schools which would hopefully take the form
of a Debian install CD which would install relevant packages from CD and

AMD Athlon XP 2000Mhz
ATI Radeon 7500 64B/Dual Head
UDMA 40Gig 7200RPM
My first question is will I have any difficulty with these hardware pieces?
My second question is about partitioning

Basically, the 800Mhz Via chip gets trounced by an AMD K6-2 400!
Worth a read though I'd say,

Not done it on Debian but I guess it's similar to how I did it with RH9:
fdisk /dev/hdb (or hdc or hdd depending which IDE channel the drive is on

This will let you partition the drive and typing 'm' will show you the
available commands. Create 1 or more part

It took me weeks of searching and asking of questions to a knowledgable
friend before I even got close to understanding iptables. Although it's Red
