Actually, to rebut my own advice, this is worthless, since the initial
ramdisk is loaded by the boot manager, not the kernel (since the kernel

Odd, that's the second message in a `Chinese' character set that was in

Also, lately, gpm seems to gone really borked, so you might try
downgrading to the stable version

Yes, I downgraded my gpm to gpm/stable (apt-get remove gpm; apt-get
install gpm/stable). When started, gpm would exit (``Resource Temporarily

ke the kghostview package from unstable, more desirable than
the one from woody, and each time you apt-get upgrade, it'll sync that
particular package to unstable.
