Hello!
Soon I'm going to install Debian 4.0 on my brothers computer
and I want to know if Debian supports WindowsXP partitions
so I don't get problems with the LILO bootloader. Do any
know if it works?

Hello!
Yesterday I tried to install Debian Sarge with an offical cd image,
but I wasn't able to use the 2.6 kernel since it couldn't detect
my dvd drive. The model is from Plextor. Was released in december
last year I think?
Anyway, I decided to use the 2.4.27 kernel instead. Since I need
a 2.6
ere to locate /dev/console.

Hello!
I have installed a Debian 2.6.8 standard kernel from the Debian ftp server
using Dselect. But it won't boot up my system! :-( HELP! :-)
This is the output:
/sbin/init: 432: cannot open dev/console: No such file
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill init!
The kernel is precompiled btw.

Now it works again! I don't know how good the system is right now,
but I'm investigating... It seems okay.
To boot the system again I simply boot with the kernel: old.
Jihoo! :-D
But it would be nice if the new kernel would work good also..
Kind regards Björn, Sweden

Not that I know of, yet. Not that this is a problem, just use apt-get
on a network connection instead.
Hello!
Is there any Debian 3.0r3 images available somewhere?
I can't find it anywhere, I'm a bit early I guess :-).

Hello!
I'm searching for Alsa mixer, where can I find it?
I'm using kernel 2.6.5, so the program must work with
Alsa 1.x.
Right now I'm using woody.

Hello!
I had the same problem.
You must do: make mrproper
Then: make menuconfig
Without "make mrproper" you get kernel
panic.
