what good video players are there in linux? i've been playing around with Xine
but it's messed up, sometimes i can get .mpg files to work sometimes it starts
with a green screen, sometimes it has no sound. what player are there that can
play .mpg .avi and divx?

im running Xfree86 and the screen is just too large looking the virtual screen
that's wider than the monitor. but unlike having the virtual screen
i can't scroll offscreen. i've tried to use the line "ViewPort 0 0" in
subsection "display" subsection but the same thing happens. attach is my
XF
i added the line
iface eth0 inet dhcp
into /etc/network/interfaces
and when i restart /etc/init.d/networking i says eth0 i an unknown option... i
think that my ethernet card has been detected cause when i do
cat /proc/pci i can see the name of my 3com mini-pci card detected.

the kernel in the potato install didn't detect my 3com mini pci(3c556B)
ethernet card on my T20, so i compiled the 2.4.1 kernel and now it detects it.
but the problem is i still can't get on the net because i didn't configure
networking during install... so what program can i run to configure n
