I am having problems with dhcpd and pump. I run dhcpd on another system
to manage my home net's IPs, but I can't get the domainsearch list to be
populated in /etc/resolv.conf.
When I obtain a lease with pump, it changes /etc/resolv.conf to include
my DNS servers, but it also blanks out the search
I have had this same problem with a perfectly updated 2.2r3 that was
just installed. At the time I shelved it as it was not something I had
time for, but now I am back trying to upgrade from potato to woody
again. Anyone have any info?
Thanks,
Bill

I have a SB 32 PnP that I got cheap a while back, will it work with
the AWE patch to the kernel? I also have isapnptools running if that
makes a difference...
Thanks,
Bill

This problem existed before that line was entered...
The PPP Howto seemed to mention this might fix it. However all it
seems to do is prolong how long I will wait for the return LCP echo.
However, it never comes. I have tried this with both Earthlink and
IBM.net and it happens with both of the
olved today because I am going to try a free offer with
IBM Internet Services who I have heard to be more reliable...
Thanks,
Bill

Guys I hope this isn't out of line but I am posting this little bit of
my log file in hopes someone can help. I asked about this earlier and
I figured this might make it easier to diagnose...
I've set up LCP-MAX-CONFIGURE up to 1000 and I still can't get logged
in.
Any help is appreciated, and
I put LCP-MAX-CONFIGURE 30 in my options file and have
upped it all the way to 150, but I still don't get any LCP's received.
Finally after 30 - 60 seconds the modem simply hangs up...
Any ideas what I can do?
Thanks,

The ethernet solution seems to be working so far. I now have gotten to the
part of the installation that asks about the network you are on. I will
only have 2 computers (Linux and mac) on this network and the Linux box
will dial in to my ISP for its IP address, which the ISP selects, so it is

I just decided to reinstall so I would have the chance to install modules
to work with the SN2000CT ethernet card. It says it is 100% NE2000
Ethernet compatible and when I opted to install the NE2000 module I got the
following error:

First of all please let me thank all of you who responded to my newbie
