i have built and I'm building a website with the aim to help some
people with their linux-boxes. It's a new site, so don't be
disappointed if you won't find there a lot of stuff yet. But I'm
working on it. I also won't promise the blue from the sky, because
I'm not a professional.

Thanks! I solved the problem. I had forgotten to install the task-x-core. So I
had my X-server and the x-base-clients and so, but something was missing on
which the authentication depends.

I installed newly Debian potato on my laptop and got the KDE 2.1.2 from
kde.debian.net. Everything worked fine but one: I can't login with kdm.
Everytime I try this, the login fails. But in textmode I can login without any

Does somebody knows, if there are debs of KDE 2.1.1 for potato available on
their servers? I've found it on the the sourceforge-mirror of kde.org, but I
don't know if it is wise, to download it from there. Can somebody give me a
hint?
