How do I get Netscape to make sounds through esd? I have
everything else working through Esound - my voice synth, CD
player and mp3s, but I can't make Netscape work :(

Through fortuitous means, I just acquired a DVD player!
I've looked at the DVD HOWTO and it recommends a whole bunch
of software from the LiVID project.
Is any of this software packaged up for Debian/unstable anywhere?
I don't mind building it by hand, but not if there's packages out
there. I

After I've upgraded from X3 to X4.0.3 the edges of the screen don't
scroll anymore.
For example if I set the virtual screen size to 800x600 and the
resolution to 640x480, which isn't uncommon, I used to be able to
scroll to the 'hidden' bits of the screen by pushing the mouse at
the edge of the sc

I'm sync'd to Unstable as of a few days ago. But this is a
problem that's stayed there through many upgrades of Netscape.
It won't recognize plugins.

I have the dvorak keymap loaded for myy everyday use in consoles, but
after upgrading to X-4 it insists on using a qwerty layout. How do I
set up X to use the dvorak keyboard layout?

My printer - a DJ500 - used to work perfectly.
I don't print very often, so I'm not sure -exactly- when it
stopped working, but it was probably when I upgraded the kernel
from 2.2.14 to 2.2.17. I can't see anything in the changes file
that is relavant though.
I have the right modules loaded:

Just installed the latest 2.2.17 pcmcia modules package and
noticed it depended on the kernel image. Why? I want to build
my OWN kernel, not use the image. couldn't it depend on either
the kernel image OR the kernel source?

I'm not sure of the proper incantations to run both IceWM (the
gnome-compliant version) and Gnome. My instinct was this:
/usr/bin/gnome-session &
exec icewm-gnome
But I end up with -two- toolbars on top of each other, which
is rather dim. What's the proper?

I can hear the stuff fine through the speakers, but it'll only

I'm a bit confused about xfs and xfstt. I understand that
xfstt is for truetype fonts, and I have it working.
But as far as I can tell, xfs doesn't offer any advantage
(for a regular user) over just putting directories in
the FontPath bits of the X configs. Is this true?
