I'm a relatively newbie to Linux administration and I need some
suggestions for data backup/disk mirroring.
I have a home network with a cable router and I'm using samba to share
data. Two machines are connected to the router; an XP Pro box and Debian
Woody (running samba).
The XP box has a singl

I think getting ipmasq to work is my first priority, then Samba. Looking

I did not have this problem with exim when I was a recent potato user.
Can I install the exim package from potato in woody?
Thanks in advance,

There is a .fetchmailrc file in my home from the Potato configuration.

I haven't handled 1000's but many 100's of images without a core dump.
If you have ImageMagick loaded, you can start the program by:
display {filename}
Once the image appears, you can open the interactive menu with a first

I don't believe I need to change the group of the binaries cdparanoia

Unfortunately when I issue either cdrdao or cdparanoia commands, I don't
have access to the SCSI device.
I'm using Debian Potato.
Looking forward to suggestions,

On the second reboot there were no such, "...modprobe...error...",

Is this normal to require a second boot following a kernel

Thanks, and thanks to this list for helping in my endeavor to learn.
