I'm having trouble
getting Debian to recognise my CD-drive, even though it will boot and install
from same. For the third time I have
trashed everything
and started the installation from scratch. I now think my trouble may be

Can somebody please help? I'm a Linux newbie doing a first-time
setup of Potato.
I changed my bios to allow CDROM boot and was able to
begin installation from the CD. The machine will now boot from the hard
disk, rescue disk etc. and I am now at the apt configuration stage, but
Linux apparently c
