to show him a programming project I've been working on. This program
only runs on GNU/Linux as of now, and is accessed through the terminal.
My first thought is that this isn't a problem; I have a VPS ru

Hey all,
I'm at my wit's end with openvpn. I've had a VPN service for almost a
month now and I haven't been able to use it on Debian sid. I've never
used a VPN before, so this is all very new to me.
The service works out of the box on my flatmate's Windows computer, and

some programs, things like gnome-terminal and gnome-dictionary. Those
are annoying to type out in full, so currently I have created symbolic
links from /usr/local/bin/gt to /usr/bin/gnome-terminal, and
/usr/local/bin/gdic to /usr/
I feel embarrassed, but I guess I didn't look hard enough. This
exact case already exists as a bug for debian-installer (severity:
wishlist).

Sorry about that. It doesn't look like anything will be done about
this, since the debian-installer
I've been using Debian for a long time on and off, and I've been using
it as my primary (and only) OS for about a year now on a relatively
new computer. While I've had issues, they've never been anything that
couldn't be fixed by doing a little reading and learning. I'm no
expert, but I think I've

not to have my files "out there" on the web... more of a direct

Hello Debian users!
Sometimes I have the need to send files that are too large for email to
a friend directly (such as recordings of music I am working on, or
similar projects). I'm wondering if there is a program that I could use
