Hello
I am using Debian Sarge. Whenever I boot the machine, the DHCP client
assigns an IP address, and just waits. Booting continues only when I
press Ctrl + C . Howver, the network works fine. Could you suggest some
remedy.

Hi all,
Somehow I successfully installed Debian 2.2r6 on my Ultra 5 sparc. But I
having trouble in using X. Whenever I use X, I get the following error
Fatal server error:
No valid modes found.
The whole error can be seen at

I got the right person , look /var/run/utmp holds the entry for the login
shells and all
the processes in its group . I found it from the windows m/c from where I
held a telnet session
with the linux m/c and I gave a hard reset to my windows m/c
. I booted back on my windows m/c and then h
potential bug . Iam working on a windows m/a and am
using the linux server by telneting but to my surprise the /etc/utmp and
the ps -el cribs . my windows 95 m/c crashed and to my surprise I found
that the ps -el
still shows the sh ( which corresponded to the tty
line I opened earlier befo
