Debian system, and I was then able to configure the
card using modconf. I don't know why it wasn't in there to begin with;
maybe I installed the kernel wrong when I tried installing 2.4.18-k6.

debootstrap (debootstrap_0.1.17.30_i386) and it seems to be going okay,
