Greetings,
On several occasions I had this problem when an application fails to
start with "error while loading shared libraries: libxxx.so: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory", yet the library is
there and I have update the cache using ldconfig.

Does anybody have cyrus-imapd v 1.5.2 (potato Debian package) working
with Netscape mailer or Mozilla?
In my case I can get my mail if I configure the MUA to use POP protocol
but not IMAP. Does anyone have an idea oof why is that? TIA,

Hi,
Does anyone know why su on my machine will su to root fine, yet will
not su to any other id. It'll prompt for the password and return but whoami
or id shows that I'm running with the original id. Even if I'm root I can't
su to any other id!
Does PAM has anything to do with it? TIA,

Hello list,
After wasting most of the day I have to resort to asking for help. My
machine is a Debian Linux 2.2.14
and I installed the prepackaged Cyrus Imap 1.5.19. I have also installed
prepackaged PAM modules.
I'm trying to use the Netscape 4.76 and Mozilla to get the mail. Mozilla

hi,
i posted this to [EMAIL PROTECTED];ackdown.org but it dawned on me that this
list is probably more appropriate. the problem is that the netbeans
requests a lower version of libstdc++2.10 than what i have (see below).
i suspect that trying to go back on libstdc++2.10 will result in a whole

greetings,
i finally upgraded to kernel 2.2 with gnome/enlightenment and i'm
having a strange problem with netscape 4.7.1. when i try to invoke it
from the enlightenment menu or gnome terminal or eterm it crashes with
segmentation fault but if i invoke it from xterm or rxvt if comes up
just fine.
root:disk 0660
another confusing thing was that before i created ht0, it appeared in
/proc/devices but when i ran MAKEDEV -n -v it responded something like "don't
know what ht0 is"

dean,
thanks for pointing out the -f . i'm still not through with the problems:

mt: /dev/ht0: No such file or directory
mortirolo:/# mt -f /dev/hdd rewind
mt: /dev/hdd is not a character special file
/dev/hdd appears to be the tape drive but
greetings,
before upgrading the kernel i went for the first time to use my tape

hi,
i've got tired of the tiny fonts in netscape and installed the xfstt
and the freefont package. when i ran the 'xfstt --sync' it complained about
not finding any *.ttf files. i looked at what is in the freefont package
and discovered that the fonts are in .pbf format.
so, xfstt is not mean

hi,
i upgraded my kernel from 2.0.34 to 2.0.36. then, using dpkg -r, i went
to remove kernel-[image|source]-2.0.34 but it complained about
/lib/modules/2.0.34 and a number of directories under
/usr/source/kernel-source-2.0.34 not being empty an didn't remove them.
i'm tempted to remove those ma
i'd like to build perldap on debian linux. as it uses netscape c sdk i
decided that the fastest way would be to build it first. unfortunately,
the configuration failed because it didn't find Xm/Xm.h.
is there a debian package with that (motif?) include file? what is it?
