Hi list,
I recently bought this DVI KVM switch:
http://en.mt-viki.com/product/KVM/usbkvm_dvi/2014/0712/577.html
It claims to support linux and from what I understand it is hardware
switch, so it should work. It isn't. To be specific, mouse and keyboard
don't work. Both mouse and keyboard works i

Let me rephrase/clarify that. There are lots of things on which
screenreaders can be blamed, but this one wasn't one of them.

I would like to remove a specific domU (test01--pv--guest) from my machine. I
am not sure how far/to what extent to remove files. Here are the files and
properties it seems I should remove:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 Jan 9 11:05
/dev/disk/by-id/dm-name-xenvg-test01--pv--guest--disk -> ../../d

What is the "proper" way to verify, say, a 'hd-media' debian installer
image? E.g.

I did find a way to 'manually' verify it, using the SHA256 checksum in

For the stable distribution (jessie), the testing distribution (stretch)
Hello
today DSA-3436-1 for openssl was released. According to the DSA the new version
for jessie is 1.0.1f-1, but current openssl version in jessie is
1.0.1k-3+deb8u2.
Now according to:
% command dpkg --compare-versions 1.0.1k-3+deb8u2 lt 1.0.1f-1
the new version would sort below what is curren

The fact you have to do so is clearly the result of your screen reader,
Steve - the link actually opens at the comment in a GUI.

Mea culpa. I didn't read far enough down the page.
After trying `vers=2.1', now I get error 13, permission denied.
Getting closer. Now it's probably a username or password problem, but
the Windows account has no password. I suppose if I must put one on,
in order to make this work, I will, but havi

Not sure what would mean "guaranteed" for you, but two firewalls
I have added an external Sata port on my box.
When I hot-plug a Sata HD into it it appears in dmesg as /dev/sdi1
How can I get the system to auto-mount whatever Sata HD I plug into it to
/media/eSata/ and this without having to give a root password ?
Cheers,
Ron.

The link is to a comment on the article, with the same error.

AFAIK avidemux isn't available in Debian, so you should probably file a
bug report where you got the package.
It is available at Debian Multimedia

The Windows username is my own name, I have no password set on that
acount. It mounts flawlessly from another Windows machine, but when I
try:
# mount -t cifs //box1/d /mnt/d -o username="Steve
Matzura",password=""
I get:
mount error(121): Remote I/O error
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page
Many thanks to Christian, David, and Pascal!
With your hints I was able to solve the problems.
Lessons learned:
1. d-i needs to be in "low" questions mode (expert) to allow
manual selection of partition type (e.g. DOS/MBR or GPT).
2. d-i seems to call grub-install on /dev/md0, even if user
