hey guys, i have a small problem with my network cable becomeing unplugged on my laptop, is there any program that will notify me with a popup or something when it does become unplugged? it doesnt come out of the jack but just enough to drop the connection, it gets quite annoying when i am chatting

Problem with Gnomebaker or CDRecord

I was able to edit fstab and get Debian to recognize the new DVD/CD writable drive that I installed this weekend. (I have no problem reading a CD and copying files from a CD in the new drive to my hard drive.) However, when I try to use Gnomebaker to write to a blank CD-R, I get the following erro

Hi, A month agao I installed a new mobo(EPOX EP-8VTAI) and CPU(XP 2700+ Thoroughbred). That CPU says NewEgg runs at 2.1GHz. I can run it at 2.3Ghz. Now I run it at 1.4Ghz. I would label it "sensitive", meaning, at certain moments, but I can't say exactly when, I get strange kernel oopses.
