Can anyone point me to a web page or manual page that shows how to set out
sources.list (for apt-get) - like what to put in, where the servers are,
etc.

My goal is to create a system where it is practical to write programs that are
composed of reusable small sub-programs, a bit like the shell, or like OO but
with small, active objects that can have a thread of their own,

Hi list,
I've come across a rather freak problem and to spare others the time, I
thought, I'd post the solution although no one asked.
The error that might occur is
cpio: (0x): No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `(0x)': No such file or directory
run-parts: /usr/share/initrd

I'm running testing and apt-get wont upgrade quite a few packages.
I'm want to upgrade to mozilla-firefox and mozilla-thunderbird but these
are being held back, along with quite a few other files.
I'm doing the standard apt-get update/upgrade.
If I do apt-get install mozilla-firefox it will insta

I would like to know what font are people using for coding. I have
tried a bunch of different ones, and it always seems to have some bad
corner. This last one I am using makes it difficult to distinguish

Since doing
apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
this morning my display has been ugly with horizontal streaks in X and
console (curses programmes where there are blocks of colour). I'd like
to fix the problem or file a bug report, but don't really know how to
identify the cause of the problem.

Confusion. I've seen it on my system, and was asking the OP if
he saw it in use.
