I want to setup a files server under Debian Woody
3.0R1. I built an hardware Raid 0+1 array with my Adaptec 1200A RAID
controller thanks to the BIOS utility. I have 4 80 Go Western Digital hard disk
drives and one 20Go HDD where I install my Woody.

No, change the share type to USER and make sure that your passdb backend has all the user accounts and passwords for the users you want to authenticate. I haven't worked with Samba 3.0 yet, but from reading about it I know you don't need machine accounts unless you are trying to use Samba as a PDC

Hi, I have a big problem getting my copy of ja2 to run under Debian
unstable.
Installation works without problems, but after start I get a segfault:

I did an apt-get dist-upgrade on my laptop today. It's runnig "testing"
Now when I try to login to a Gnome session it imediatly logs me back out.
I remove all . files/directories in my hme directory, thinking that the
nexessary ones would get recreated, but now I'm worse off than before :-(

and forgot about the 'x'. I had downloaded and tried it out. After starting

How can one lower the frequency of messages (mails) from Cron Daemon?
The text of the mail:
fetchmail: background fetchmail at 11547 awakened.
I have fetchmail running as a daemon but as I am not connected to the internet
all the time, that's why cron complains.

I'm trying to combine 2 linux firewalls/routers together. the final host
should have the following ports:
1. eth0 - 256kbps frame relay.
2. ppp0 (via eth1) - pppoe adsl with dhcp.
3. eth2-3 - 2 DMZ's.
4. eth4 - localnet.
The default route is ppp0.
