Yes the system is getting very hot, i've run the system uncapped with the chassi
in two pieces. Yesterday i put the chassi on like it's supposed to be but still the
system looks up :(

A few weeks ago my power supply died (smell of burning plastic and other
components of the power supply). I would later realise that I *used* to
have PIII system. It as a VIA chipset system with on-board audio.
I changed the power supply (to a higher wattage, power supply for Pentium
IV).

You might try installing xserver-svga, which is X 3.3.6, but is
supported in woody. I used it with Diamond video cards in the past and
it worked fine with 16 bpp. I don't believe the X folks are supporting
a lot of the older cards in 4.x.
