hi
I wanted to know if someone could provide me with some
insight on how i could go about tuning X to run a large number
of apps at once(mostly terminals). Back when running debian potato
under Xfree 3.3.6 X could do this pretty easily, i would have
maybe 75-100 terminals/applications open at once
The exact error message is:
apt-get install x

You might want to run 'apt-get -f install' to correct these: (I've tried it)

a stable system just now and found it upgraded to openssh 3.3,
i'm aware of the vuln that is comming out.
but i was curious if the security team(or others) would re-exami

First of all I would try to find out what sort of modem it is, no use to
send this sort of question to the list otherwise...:-)
Then I would open a browser with google.com and search for:

How would you configure an Internal Modem ?

Greg,
Thank you for the tip. I changed the /etc/hosts.deny to now
not include ALL:PARANOID and then it all started to work.
I very much appreciate the help!

Hi,
is anyone on this list successfully using xdm from xfree86 4.1 (current
woody) to manage X terminals? For me it works with servers running
xfree86 3.3.6 but not with servers running xfree 4.1.
The server is running a recent woody (about one week old). xdm manages
the local display and is co

Yes. This was done to fix a problem with drives over 32gb on an older
machine that accepted it in the bios, but lilo didn't work on.

Excuse me but isn't /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/exim suppose to finish (i.e. fork
and get out of the way) quickly like all pppd scripts are? I'm
putting a & at the end of this line
/usr/sbin/exim -qf &
otherwise half the phone call is wasted waiting for exim to finish.
