OK, I've set up my client Linux with SAMBA and it works fine. No
problems there. But I discovered that Konqueror does not see the

what is wrong with apt-get on my machine. Dselect & dpkg work fine, but

IIRC su usage get logged into the /var/log/auth.log. I think logcheck picks
up this, and will email it to whom you choose.

Mounting smb shares and then resharing them out as NFS causes no end of
problems. File locks don't work right, sometimes the NFS clients won't

I keep having trouble reciving mail on my system. For
some reason I have lost my dns acording to the mail

I am not the one in the know, but after the 4th bug report complaining that
one of my non-us packages was "old" and to please upload a new one. I got
fed up, thus I am announcing the issue widely.
