Depending on what PC it is.. Some old Compaq's that I have where I work must
have a keyboard and mouse plugged in. No options in the BIOS. But most
likely, there are.. Just a few exceptions to that.

sounds like you may be runing behind some sort of
NAT and it isn't doing ftp right. try putting the
client in passive mode before uploading ..
if that fails, try to ftp without doing NAT.

I solved the problem. I used the stock kernel.org 2.4.17 kernel instead
of the debian kernel-

Mine is gcc-2.95.2 and I didn´t find anything newer than

As far as I know yes. I now have two nvidia-kernel packages, one for
2.4.6 and for 2.4.17, both installed, with their respect NVdriver in
/lib/modules/2.4.6 and /lib/modules/2.4.17.
