and I wanted to mention that you should probably look into the
"notify" stuff, specifically the "also-notify" statement for named.conf

I have just installed the X Windows system under Debian 2.1 (slink).
Unfortunately the system won't let me past the log-in prompt. I have tried
the details for the root account and also for a user I configured during

If you have a proper localhost line in /etc/hosts you don't actually need
the IP of your interface in there at all.

127.0.0.1 matrix. matrix localhost.
With this line any process on the machine can reach the machine itself via
the fqdn, the hostname, or just 'localhost'.

Hi all-
I'm getting warning messages from my mailer-daemon about how it
can't deliver mail. I've only sent three over the last few days, so
that's all that have been postponed. My mail system was working as
late as a week ago, but now seems to have stopped. I normally use
exim and the exim.conf fi
