Hi All,
I've been trying for a while now to get linux installed on my machine.
It's an IWILL 2935UW. There is a stuff at the card web site www.iwill.net

There is a nice pager program at www.qpage.org. If you just want to use
numeric paging, and your system doesn't use the TAP protocol for it, you
can just dial the pager and enter the number via a quick shell script.
Hope this helps.

I'm new to both Linux in general and the debian distribution
specifically. I found that dselect, though awkward at first, was rather
easy to use and quite powerful. That's not to say that the interface
couldn't be improved somewhat. Is work on dselect ongoing, and is the
source available? If so,

XEmacs takes an annoyingly long time to start up. It does not appear to
be using CPU or doing disk access--it just "pauses" for a few seconds
while starting.
I tried an "strace xemacs" to see what system calls were being made.
During the slow part of startup, here's what it was doing:

No docs with the machine, it's an old thingie I found lying around here. The
gfx card seams to be VLB (that's the black 16 bit ISA-looking thing with an
AGP looking thing after it, isn't it?), and might be an S3 (there is a logo
with 3 thing that might be 'S' and a '3', but it's not the standard S3
