installing the latest Debian distribution on a PC, I recompiled a new
kernel, and installed it with LILO. Now the machine boots correctly, but
when the LILO prompt appears, the keyboard LEDs start to flash, and no

I could not compile the source for lyx 1.0.0pre6. There were some linking
problems which I could not figure out and a question to the lyx mailing
list did not produce an answer. After "upgrading" my lyx to 1.0.0pre6 with
an unofficial debian binary package I found two problems

i had this problem as well, and it magically went away. guessing (i didn't
notice for a while) i would say it probably happened when i installed the
oldlibs stuff to make word perfect work.
i'd check in the oldlibs directory in slink and install the appropriate ones
which acroread needs and see
I installed acroread from slink and I got seg fault when I tried to run
it.
