I am having a bit of a problem with Perl.
I am running a mostly hamm system, but whenever I use the newest perl
things start core-dumping (adduser, dpkg-ftp)... The only solution I
have found is to downgrade to the old perl that came with hamm, though
this of course breaks dependancies e

I finally figured out the problem with suEXEC giving internal server
errors with CGI scripts. Apparently the directory was mode 0775 instead
of 0755 ... suEXEC checks to make sure the directory is only writable by

I went to the trouble of compiling from sources, and had the same problem
when using the newer gtk+ package.
I then recompiled, using the release of gtk+ previous to 971201 (I think

For the possible hardware I'm offered a 486 DX2/66, 16 MB RAM, 120 MB

Thanks for helping me set my Debian system last week. Everything works OK
but the ppp connection.
The modem problem was an incorrect irq setting. Now I'm able to dial. I
downloaded XISP and configured it (was pretty easy - cleaver user
interface!) and dialed (using PAP). It finished

xauth is available at the remote end when ssh processes try to set up
the $HOME/.Xauthority keys.

and it seemed okay. I also made changes to the .xinitrc file in my
subdirectory. It worked for fvwm2 but when I replaced fvwm2 with olvwm,
xwindows loads up to the light blue background and then shuts down totally

It seems to set the display environment variable but it never allocates a
socket in /tmp/.X11-unix. Very odd, this is on 'va.debian.org' btw.

virtual terminal. Since the default is to have six, X gets tty7.
If you end up having 12 tty's as login consoles, X will (presumably)
get the 13th, ttyd.

Telesis AT-1500BT ethernet card. The (available) device drivers
for the AT-1700 or NI2100 do not seem to recognize this ethernet
