Hi Gabriele, although I don't own a cdrom drive with a proprietary interface I think that the key might be to give the "coordinates" of the drive (i.e. io port and interrupt) at boot time. Unfortunately I lack the knowledge to be more precisely. Perhaps someone else can shed more light on this!?!
